Fast and flexible
Airbnb.org helps provide short-term, emergency stays in as little as just a few hours. Hosts, partners, and supporters make this possible.

In a real home
Your donations fund emergency housing with the things that help people recover—like a kitchen, laundry, or space for kids or pets.

Supporting communities
Because donations fund housing, money stays in the affected communities in crisis, helping everyone recover.

FAQs
Why donate to Airbnb.org?
Airbnb.org helps people access free emergency housing during times of crisis like natural disasters. When you donate, 100% of your donations go to funding housing for people impacted—not to operating costs. How does that work? Operating costs for Airbnb.org are covered by Airbnb, who originally founded it. Now Airbnb.org works independently as its own U.S. 501(c)(3) organization.
How do donations work?
There are multiple ways to donate to Airbnb.org:
- You can donate via the Airbnb.org website either on a one-time or recurring basis.
- You can also donate as an Airbnb host, giving a percentage of what your listing earns by setting a host payout donation. You can opt out at any time in your Airbnb account settings.
Are donations tax deductible?
Donations to Airbnb.org, a US 501(c)(3) non-profit, are tax deductible in the US to the extent permitted by law.
- In the United States, direct monetary donations are tax deductible
- In Mexico, they are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law
- In the United Kingdom, they are not tax deductible and do not qualify for UK Gift Aid
- In Australia, donations are not tax deductible
How do I manage, change, or cancel my donation?
If you're giving on a recurring basis, you’ll receive regular email receipts. Open your most-recent email and choose the “Manage Your Donation” link. You'll be taken to a page where you can change, pause, or cancel your donation.
How else can Airbnb hosts give?
Hosts are integral in helping Airbnb.org provide emergency housing during times of disaster or crisis in local communities. If you're a host through Airbnb, you can help or donate in a few ways:
- Sign up to discount for an Airbnb.org stay, which means you're open to offering a discounted or free stay to Airbnb.org guests
- If your listing is booked for an Airbnb.org stay, provide a one-time discount for a guest during their time of need
- Donate by setting a host payout donation, which donates a percentage of each payout; except on split payouts to two or more payment types
Why is the average cost $110 per night?
For an Airbnb.org stay on Airbnb over the past five years, $110 USD is the average booking cost globally for one night.
